Lance and the bicycles

watched a show on TV about the engineering behind Lance Armstrong and the bike riding/racing, the bikes , the shoes , the helmet.

I was sure there was plenty of engineering , but this show really opened my eyes!

Awesome isn't it.

It's similar to LSR in that respect,  the engine size is limited and the technology abounds.

Johnny Cobb right here in Shreveport built one of Lances bicycles.  He was telling me about some of the things he did to make a part 1/4 of an ounce lighter.  He designed handlebars shaped like an airplane wing.  Seems extravagant for just a bicycle.  Johnny likes carbon fibre

It would have been KOOL to see a bicycle built by Smokey Yunick to meet , bend , fudge on the rule book.

Smokey was sorta known for doing things at the limit and over it.
