Was told you can bolt on a T-5 to a Ford 300, it's from a F100, and has a 3 speed. If this is so, what clutch do you use, and can you use a T-5 from an S10. Thanks

Get one from a mustang and it will be a bolt in.

If you need the S10 trans to move the shifter forward, then just grab the 3 speed with OD out of an '80's Ford PU.  Shifter comes out of the top cover.  '85 was about the last year for a good looking shifter, later ones got clunky, but they are cheap.

I wouldn't use the S10 trans; however, you can fit the S10 tailhousing to your Mustang T5.
