I have worked on the Harley/Ford some.  This should be a photo of the shaft connector that joins the engine shaft to the transmission.  Next I will get the flange machined that is represented by a wood block in this photo.

Colder'n a well digging primate in a brass bra in January.

I just saw the Model A with painted hood sides installed. For the first time. :) Computer issues got sorted out so it runs. I hear tell it will burn rubber.

Cold front is moving thru here: 36*F here today , lite wind. Suppose to hit 2*F this evening.

Today we got a large job completed on this house we bought in September 2024.  Garage door installed in place of store front that was there for many decades.

18 foot wide insulated door.  Opener on the door.

Fun Fact: The tech told us to NOT use a LED bulb unless it IS rated for garage door use. Electronic static of the LED bulb will burn out the logic board in the opener...  With incandescent light bulbs phased out , that is really sweet.

Before and after photos.  We are happy.  Wife is like a kid , jumping happy

Tony, looks like real progress to me. :)

Looks good Tony.  On my garage door openers, a regular doorbell switch won't work like the old openers used to.  Now I have to buy a switch made for them.  I installed one opener a few years ago that had a battery backup inside it.  A couple years ago, the battery was dying, so it kept beeping.  We didn't know where the beeping was coming from until I finally tracked it to the opener.  I just disconnected it.  Hell, if the power goes out, I can open the single door easily.

my garage door opener was giving me fits so I just removed it. I also replaced the top section with a shorter one . I open my garage door a hand full of times a year. not worth the bother for another opener .

With curiosity, I performed a few DuckDuckGO searches for a garage door opener LED bulb:  Yikes !

Local Home Depot has a Genie opener brand LED bulb: $12.50 for 1 bulb. Yikes.... Amazon has the garage door opener LED bulbs  for a bit less money.  The garage door installer told me to buy a Genie brand.  Opener is a Liftmaster brand. Liftmaster been around for ever

Any way: I hook a separate 4 foot shop type light to the garage door opener via an extension cord. The shop light is way better in light amount when pulling the car into the dark  garage than a single light bulb on the opener.

There are places in my house/garage where I still use incandescent bulbs, the openers being one of them.  Between the house and shop, I have four openers and all use incandescent bulbs.  They aren't on long enough to justify LED bulbs.

nice solution . more light less money. A buddy of mine hooked up a tennis ball on a string attached to the garage door so when it is open the ball is down to windshield height . When the door closes the ball retracts out of the way . that way he can fit his big ford into the shop and just clear the door with the back bumper .

CK, I've done that with both sides on the house garage and works well.  I drive the truck straight in and it hits the windshield right at the wiper blades.  My wife backs the Subie in and the ball hits the rear window.  But the latest Subie has a rear camera, so now she watches it and stops when the yellow lines on the camera 'hit' the shelf behind her car.
