I have a 32 Ford 2 dr sedan and need a simple wiring diagram for the courtesy lights. I have a courtesy light on both rear seat kick panels and a courtesy light in both front seat kick panels and lights in the rear view mirror. They are actuated by switches in the door frame of the car.  Due to the fact that I inherited this problem I do not have an as built wiring diagram to trouble shoot from. Any help would be appreciated.

2 ways to do it depending on what style of door jamb switch you have. If your switch is grounding, you have positive power going to the light at all times. When the door is open, the switch grounds out the light circuit. If the switch is not grounding to metal and is passing current  through when the door is open, you can send the positive power to the light that is already grounded. Check the jamb switch to see what it does.

In addition, if it works by grounding the light, you should check to see what type of headlight switch you have.  The most used one is a GM switch.  These have a terminal for connecting to the ground side of the interior light circuit. When you rotate the switch lever, you complete the ground, and turn on the lights manually.
