Frank I checked ona welding site I haunt. Very mixed reviews. Most were negative. Odd size fittings, only online available consumables, high cost warrranty, etc. Those who had good units say they work ok to well.
Seems like they are rebadged under several names. Like all chineese electrical stuff Your millage may vary!!!

Hope this helps

I looked at those about a year ago. I encountered mostly negative info. I wasn't brave enough to try one. My exp. at trying to save some money over the last 10 years has been dismal.

I took a look at that ebay item. I couldn't quite tell; is it DC only TIG -not AC ?

I almost sold my soul for a plasma cutter.(The soul has been pretty badly abused   so it would be cheap
I needed some 16 and 18 ga. sheet. And there was nowhere near me to buy it  I phoned a company..a good hr away..with  no traffic. He felt bad I was so far away.
He asked very helpfully what I was doing..and how I was going to cut it.DON'T ASK :( I did tell HIM  ) He just stuck the pieces on the corner of his plasma cutter table..oh..about..8'x about 14' or so  Grabbed the control box that was on a long cable..and asked what the measurements were..punched them in..OMG that thing cut NICELY!!
I.. mouse like asked how much it was worth..he said about 100

I don't see if its AC/DC, but it does have a HF arc start.

Yep, I was afraid of that even though I saw it was HF. They can keep the welder....I'd give em $300 for just a plasma cutter.

Thanks fellers.

I have a Horrible Freight plasma cutter, the 220v model, I've cut 3/8 steel w/it. It's ok for my use but I wouldn't want to depend on it every day. 3/16 or thinner metal cuts pretty fast but the thicker stuff goes much slower.

Well, I bought one off Ebay, I set it up today. I ordered a straight plasma cutter, SIMADRE 50RX  for $350 to my door, with a 1 year warrentee. The only downside, the instructions are in Chinglish, and some of the fittings for the air system were not included.

I used it for the first time, it did a real nice job. It seems to have plenty of power. The consumables are reasonably priced and easy to find. I am happy so far.

I am using the search feature Frank....
six years later.....   How do you like the plasma cutter you purchased
You never have time to do it right the first time but you always have time to do it again.

It has worked fine. I bought extra consumables but have not needed them yet. The heaviest material it has cut is 5/16" steel. It works great on steel or stainless steel, not so great on Aluminum, slower but it will still get through it. It has easily outdone the previous plasma cutter I had, and at 1/3 the price.

Glad to hear it. I should have looked at this option a year ago.
