It was originally a 15 gallon barrel. Roger on the floor lamp.

you should make a matched set . All of the roundtable guys could help you empty a barrel some day ! lamp looks great !

The problem with that is, the stuff I like only comes in 53 gallon barrels and I can't drink that much at one time...

Pete

Ok, here is the finished product.
The top was fairly rotten so I poured it a quarter inch thick with epoxy.

Pretty neat.  I was hoping you would post pictures.  I like to repurpose materials.  Sometimes I think our whole place is repurposed.  Our house was once an army barracks.

Very interesting.
Our house was a railroad section house till 1939.

The army base south of town was closed after the Korean War and the buildings were sold to be either torn down for materials or to be moved.  Ours was moved to our lot as a unit and set on a prepared foundation.  Many of the homes in my area were built from these building.  Initially you could spot them by the window design and the yellow pine lap siding.  We replaced the siding and the windows during the nearly 40 years we have lived here.  We also added the garage and have completely went through the interior.

This is a photo of the house that I took last fall.

I have been told that our house was a nurses barracks.  I always say that I bet the windows were used for doors on more than one occasion.

ah... an end table with lamp built on.  Kool

The epoxy top is a good thing, should be easier to keep clean. Kinda worried if I show my wife this. I dont need more projects.
