I was wondering if any of you folks have a similar situation ?

I may be moving to my retirement property in 1.5 yrs ..  Taylor AZ.

There is No USPS delivery addresses in Taylor.   If you are a resident in Taylor AZ.. You receive a free USPS mail box at the USPS office. There is no door to door house mail service there.   Dont ask me why, I dont know.

Since there is no service, the UPS , Fed-x is all delivered to the USPS office on Main Street. I was told this , so I am guessing it is accurate?

I was less than clear with first post... There are addresses there.  No Home delivery of mail.  No rural mail  routes.

Which is weird since in Snowflake AZ that is right next door to Taylor... there is delivery of mail.

I live in Lacon, on the east bank of the river, and Sparland is on the west bank, right across the bridge. The USPS eliminated Sparlands PO, and told everyone there that they could have rural style mailboxes at their houses, or at the Lacon PO. Now there's talk of that not working, and they may open another post office there, if they can find a building (the old building is now a barbershop).

Lacon has about 1900 population (also county seat) and Sparland has about 385. Maybe you can get everyone to raise hell to get mail delivery to Taylor? What are the populations of both towns?

In East Helena here we get a free PO box since there is no street delivery.  Causes no end to shipping issues.  My credit card has the PO box for an address but UPS, FedEx and the other ground shippers will only ship to my house.  If it come USPS with a street address instead of the PO box, about half the time they will send it back.  Almost never do on-line ordering because of that, but call the vendor and talk to them to find out how they ship. Will be calling SSBC today for a master cylinder for the Olds for that reason.

Thanks a bunch.  This delivery mess is what I was wondering about.

I 've got a bunch of decisions to make this year.  Start implementing them after this november

Just curious, what is there that attracted you to buy retirement property there?

Probably that it's quiet with no loud trucks noises (FedEx, UPS, USPS...).

Quiet , cooler, not too high in altitude , does not become a traffic snarl cluster on the weekends like the Prescott , Prescott Valley, Payson, Flagstaff  areas do.  People in the metro Phoenix area drive up there to cool off in the summer. Becomes a traffic nightmare

My land is a few miles north of the forest ,  no worry on wild fires.  Major medical is available in Show Low AZ

I do not need to drive the I-17 freeway for a visit to metro Phoenix area if needed. That I-17 freeway is a traffic mess on a regular basis now.  Crashes often close the freeway for 1 - 3 hours.  Or it just backs up for miles because of the  vehicle volume.

If I want to hit the freeway...  I-40 is north of us about 25 miles

As example: Friday Sept 1 traffic on the I-17 NB  was backed up for 20 miles in early afternoon from a disabled vehicle ......  People trying to exit the valley for the high country where it is a little cooler.

This was shown on the news and on the AZ ADOT twitter feed

The SR87 was also a  cluster of traffic out of the valley up the hill to the Payson AZ area.  I use the US 60 east from my house. Through Globe AZ area...  A little less traveled road thru the Salt River Canyon.

I guess if you live in the cooler area already.  traffic in & out is not much problem
