Our buddy Hooley went to the North Star Dragway at Denton, Texas on Halloween.  I was away in Hawaii.  Something went really wrong in the burnout box.  The throttle did not stick, but the car turned violently.  Although it usually turns in a little in the burnout, it does not work it's way around to the other direction.  You can see the results on his facebook page at  https://www.facebook.com/hooley.huffman  You will need to bring up the videos and there are some stills also.  Hooley, the guys on the starting line, and the "Okie Twister" are fine, but it was a really crazy, scary, moment.

I have been around this car a lot at the starting line and in the burnout box.  It has never done anything close to this before.  I think we should all remind ourselves to be ever on the alert and not take safety for granted.  A lot of us mess with some potentially dangerous stuff.

Wow THAT gets your attention! Just shows that when things go wrong in a car that fast it's a big deal no matter how experienced the driver.

This is one of the times I wish Facebook would let you see stuff if you aren't a member. Sounds like things got hairy. Good to hear no one was hurt.

Try this George. It is a sequence of pictures that are better angle than the video.

I had to join facebook just to view this video.  I will not participate in facebook.  There are only so many hours in the day, and my time will be spent elsewhere.(Standing on the street corner hitting myself in the head with a hammer comes to mind)

I sure enjoyed the halloween pics. I wouldn't have expected racers to partake in such activities. :)

That was a scary random event! Wow, yeah those guys just dodged the Henry J. Think I can read lips of the guy on the left in the pics. Everybody was lucky that night! Great costumes by the way.

Was there much damage to the car? It looks to have fared well considering the ride it was on . I only ask as it already appears there was no damage to humans.
