Hello;
It's been since Drcember that my 57 Chevy has been in the shop for paint! I had to buy a donor 4 door hardtop to replace my roof with! Lucky for me, I was able to take all the extra parts out to the auto swap and sell everything!
The part I'm scared about is putting that car back together! This part is the hardest for me, I always manage to screw things up when I do this kind of stuff. I have been buffing all the stainless since December!! Went out and purchased some more replacemant parts from Eckler's last Saturday, I even found a $159 Car Cover for $37.00 in their Scratch and Dent room!!
Having a guy install my front and back glass next week! Then I bring the car home to assemble in my driveway.
I will try to attatch a photo, hope I'm sucessful!
I don't think I was, sorry!

I feel for you, I am at the same point on the current project. I have learned to use lots of tape and cheap towels to pad things out to minimize damage.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

I agree. I have no words of advice. I know how to screw up as good as most!

Hello;
Well started today with reassembly, already scratched the pass side fender, lucky for me the trim covers those scratches! More tomorrow!
Only working early AM as way too hot to work all day and still have not found all my parts for install still a lot missing in action!!

i wonder if the transparent film used to protect home and commercial windows during painting might be used to protect your fenders finish while they reassemble everything..

its kinda late to secure all the small parts on layers of cardboard.. to keep track of them..

Hello;
Only working a couple hours in the am as the heat gets right to me. Today, I put the front fender trim on both sides, then I tried to figgure out how to install the trunk latch. Put one of the headlight buckets in to see I have to remove it to ad the front grill bar extensions on the fenders.
Monday I will get some more done. Have quite a few "missing" parts including my horns and a critical piece of A pillar trim.
Got my grill! It's ugly anadized aluminum! Think I will replace the darn thing.
Taking the bumpers to powder coating in metallic blue to match the rest of the car.

Hello;
Has anyone ever replaced the outside door handles on a Tri-5? Can't get to the screws inside the door! Thinking I might have to remove the latch mech, let it drop inside in order to get a screwdriver through the access hole.
Any answers greatly appreciated!!
