I drove down yesterday and back today. Picked up four wheels I spoke for ahead of time, bought a pair of new Alden MII front coil-overs very reasonable in the swap, picked up a few new catalogs, a couple of magnetic jig tools from Gulley Performance and some sort of wonder glue ( as in wonder if it will work as well for me as it did for the gal who demonstrated it).  Wandered about mentally remarking on how bad the "dub" wheels look on a lot of otherwise great cars... had a good time.

The product is Tech-bond. It has three magic potions: Activator/Accelerator, Poly Prep, and the Polymer-enhanced Bonding Agent. I thought I would try it on a plastic console I've modified to use in the "40 coupe. So far it is living up to the claim and bonds very well.

The problem with bonding agents and the like is that almost everything the body shops use now is packaged in co-joined tubes that require a unique caulking/mixing gun. Every product seems to have its own $50+ caulking gun and a $40 co-joined tube. It's crazy expensive and wasteful for a small job.

I used to do a lot of Corvette body repair. 3M had a two tube bonding agent that worked killer and had a shelf life of 2-3 years. Can't get it any more-at least in the tube configuration.

Did the marketing ploy work? Yep, she was set up on the end of an aisle in the dealers area and was gluing stuff together. Normally I avoid that sort of demo like the plague but in this case I was captured because I had a need.
