I have been making a little progress on my Coupe project. Currently fixing mistakes from my unknowing youth and poorly patched rot covered up and discovered...

The panel below the deck lid was butchered with badly installed lights and rust. Having heard horror stories about the bad fit of replacement panels I decided to fabricate my own.

I needs a little trim at the top and tip the edge over the inner structure and then on to the wheel well panels and a roll pan to finish the rear...

You never have time to do it right the first time but you always have time to do it again.

Well done. Sometimes we think backwards so pics in reverse make sense. :)

Well, you did reverse engineer your replacement panel.

You were right about the replacement panels. The only ones that I bought and can use 'as is' are the rear pan under the trunk lid, hood shelves and the running board aprons.most of those are pressed steel parts. The trunk lid and rear inner fenders for my T are not useable.Nice work on your part bye the way!
