Son is rebuilding a 350 for the Camino, he had to get a different oil pan from the junk yard. There's dryed on grease and oil on the outside and Aluminum flake on the inside of the pan!

We already took it to the car wash and blasted off the big stuff! We brushed on some diesel fuel and did some rubbing on it !

This is going to take to long!

Whats the best way to go after this clean up?

Can I boil it in soapy water?

Try spray "oven cleaner" from the dollar store, don't need a high quality product.  Watch where you spray it and where you rinse it off with garden hose,  The chemical is caustic.  Will take the paint off as well.

Make sure you clean under the windage tray really good.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

I would take it to an automotive machine shop and let them tank it.

Oven cleaner plus the quarter car wash.  Patience helps - take along a magazine or two, along with the handful of quarters.  Hot tanks around here are being replaced with ovens, but not real cheap and not always perfect the first time.
My project is 90% finished, with only 90% to go.

Some days it\'s not worth chewing through the restraints.

I vote for the engine vat. No.2 is oven cleaner.

The cook is under way, hot and cold method! Looks like oil pan will fit in the pit also! Need to get another can of the cleaner!
