I'm in the market for an enclosed trailer. 16ft-ish for short term storage/moving.  Any brands to stay away from? Any brands worth a bit of a premium? Common problem areas?

While my truck is a 6cyl chevy, I do have bigger trucks in the family for when I need to move it full.

Thanks in advance

Most people have a higher than average number of legs.

I have a 24 ft. American Hauler that leaks everywhere, so there's one to stay away from.

Wells Cargo and Pace American used to be cheap. I used to build trailers for race cars. All the good ones had a one piece roof of alum. like a semi trailer top. My only real advice is look for the one piece top.

Another vote for a one piece top, or at least one with factory double folded seams.  I would also suggest more than 16 ft if you ever plan on putting a car in it.

R&R makes a very good aluminum trailer.  They're made just a few miles from here & I'm not sure they're available in AZ. They're light, reasonably priced, high quality, and good resale value.  I do have one but only because of the reasons stated.  Aluminum is more expensive up front but in my mind worth it in the long run.

Mine is only a 6x12, has brakes, and weighs 1100 lbs. after mods. Smaller than you're talking about but their trailers are very well built. Cost $4400.

I have 2007 7x16 MTI, made in Indiana. I hauled my track roadster in it. I put a/c and a microwave in it and a bunk over the nose of the car.

It's always been stored outdoors; never a drop of water in it.
I towed it behind the 4.2 6 cyl. Trailblazer. It's for sale if you want to take a vacation and come and get it. Or, I could be talked into delivery....
