After looking at numerous threads, I fabbed an attachment for the cherry picker. The pics are making sure that the riser is tall enough to do what I usually do. I think I'm going to use a larger tubing to make some slip over clamps to be adjustable. Does anyone know of a rubber product that I could put on the clamps that wouldn't scratch paint? I'm going to mark the beam somehow so it will be easy to start from center when changing setups. This sure beats what I've been doing. :)

I used a two by six with a metal plate on either side and a half inch hole thru the center. You just pull the pin or bolt out of the beam and bolt the two by to it. Center it in the cab and it has worked great for many years.

That's really slick. Any issues with the cab slipping forward/back if it starts to sway and suddenly changing the angle of the dangle?

Slip over pieces of bicycle or motorcycle inner tube? Roll back on itself to double?

Jaybee, I have the 2x4's clamped against the door jamb holding it in place. I used 2" tubing and my thought is that the wider the more stable it will be. I'll know more soon. :)

Thanks, I wondered about that.

As far as your padding is concerned, maybe get some pipe insulation...the thinner, more flexible "rubbery" stuff as opposed to the thicker, stiffer stuff. Contact cement could hold it in place.

On mine, I have a piece of wood about 8" long fastened on each side, perpendicular to the bar, and covered with carpet. I use Stanley Quick clamps to keep it from sliding forward and back.
