Years ago when I worked at the Chevy dealer I found out about a 2 quart filter for a Chevy motor for the big trucks and was wondering if a 2 quart filter was ever made for a Ford motor,my 460 takes 7 quarts and if I can find a 2 quart filter I could round it out to 8 quarts.

Does' your filter hang straight down? Could be a problem with a long filter.
You could also use a filter relocation kit with two filters.

Not enough room for a 2 quart filter,I think there is a adapter to mount the filter straight up on the truck FE motors so I am going to look into one.

90 degree adapters are common for fords.

The most "economical"  one's are on 70's Econoline  & P chassis 6 cylinders.. A special bolt .. An adapter ...Some gaskets ... Lays the filter right next to the block ...       Available at most any " used parts store" ....  8)
