Most people have a higher than average number of legs.

Or my glasses, or the part that I had in my hand when I walked over here.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

Seems I spend a lot of time just sitting there looking at nothing in particular, or something in particular; also a goodly amount looking FOR something or another.  Sometimes I just get pooped out and go in and take a nap.

Same with me enjenjo. I don't wear prescription glasses yet so I use Walmart reading glasses and I am always looking for those darn things. I gota get one of those strings that hang the glasses around my neck.

That looks like my pie chart would look if I had made on up. It amazes me how much stuff can get lost in one work shop that has been so finely organized.

Looking for a place flat and clean enough to spread a collection of whatever out to sort it. Or finding a clear path to walk in to get to where what I think I need is hiding. The clearest path from the door used to be to the refrigerator but now I have to litter the path to be able to get the refrigerator door open. I don't have a problem with glasses though. I wear safety glasses exclusively and the last pair I ruined with scratched lenses have side shields on them and are in a case near my bench grinder and drill press. GPster

Yup sounds about right. As far as glasses go I go to the dollar
store and buy three pair at a time and have them scattered all over the house and shop. Seems there's always a pair in my coat pocket, in the truck, or tossed on a table or bench someplace. The key is quantity.

UGLY OLDS

Yep .. The chart fits me too ....      I have to add moving around the various chairs & stools as I can't stand in one place that much anymore ... :(D)

The only thing worse than missing the tool is not remembering why you needed it when you find it .....OR .. Using it to start on something completely different ...

Better make me a slice of the pie for that too .........

well... i have found that proper tool box organization is the best way...

keep your drawers only 4 or 5 layers deep with random stuff..

and yes.. those really are my tool boxes and junk on them.

the drawers are pulled slightly open just for the photo.. just enough that it did not want to tip over  and still get the image..

and to answer the question.. what is the green box on the short tool box with the 2 meters... thats an adjustable voltage and current limiting 18 volt 3 amp power supply i used for recharging totally discharged batteries and powering various items i am testing..  ever needed exactly 5 volts.. or 8 volts or 14.6 to check a regulator..

now to answer the 8 volt question.. you will recall that i do fuel injection work.. along with electronic engine controls.. ford used 8 volts on their EEC3 systems.. and MCU systems.. i have some of the manuals and have fixed MANY of both systems..

my home shop is 700+ square feet. I have a shelf just for tape measures. When its full there must be 9 or so in there. I am always loosing tape measures as I never seem to remember where I set one down. When I cant find one I just go back to the shelf.

Today I wanted to solder something. I found the rolls of solder but not the soldering guns. I have two. About a half hour later, I found both guns. Not even close to each other. Now, solder and guns are all in one drawer.

But do you REMEMBER which drawer? lol

I do the same with tape measures, often used wrenches, ratchets, sharpies, and flashlights.  Also have about 10 of my favorite tiny swiss army pocket knives.  Sometimes I still can't find some of that stuff.

My big problem is finding tool B while looking for tool A.  I hold B in my hand until I find A, go put B where I can find it again, and then wonder what I was going to do with A.  Repeat until beer time, and then take a break.
My project is 90% finished, with only 90% to go.

99.99% of my time in there lately. CLEANING.Cleaning my shop is a very good cheap high for me :D  Sorting stuff out/building crates for stuff to go in on shelves. Very sadly just throwing out all kinds of stuff that I cannot sell or even find homes for  .

As for you guys who have multiple tape measures, eye glasses..
Hey whatever works for you. With me..if I have ONE tape measure or pair of glasses or whatever..I TAKE CARE OF IT :!: And pretty much ALWAYS know exactly where it is. If I have MORE THAN ONE..then the chances of me being able to find ANY goes DOWN exponentially :!:

As in 2..bad. 3..I may as well drive into town and buy more
