anybody ever use this stuff? CarQuest swears by it. It's 32 oz bottle made by USA Sealants.  Advance also sells it. Not cheap, $55-60

wow... what GREAT stuffff

it seals areas it could NEVER get to...

aluminum heads expand and contract significant amounts.

when the head is overheated..  the HOTTEST spots around the exhaust seats and the exhaust ports expand even more... this crushes the head gasket..

if the expansion is enough that the gasket cannot crush more.. the expanding aluminum distorts slightly.. when it returns to the normal or ambient temps..  there is NOT enough tension to prevent compression and combustion gasses from escaping between the top of the block and the surface of the head...

prevention is the best..

a slightly different blue product.. called hylomar...

a thin coating on both sides of the head gaskets and allowed to hang for 30 minutes after application and before installation to allow solvents to evaporate..

i have taken to rolling it it out smooth with a rubber roller i found..  i have also used 2 bondo spreaders and had somebody pull the gasket upward through both of them to smooth and thin the layer out...

i won't put a head on without it..  as i don't like to do it twice...

Watched some of the video's about this stuff! Gettiing mixed results. I wonder what effect , if any, this would have on heater core or Raditor!

I've been told that GM place's 3 stop leak tablet's in each car that rolls off the line!
