i would bet that he has at least a magnaflux set up at work.. if he does not have one at home..

he might even have more than that at work..

spray crack kits might also..

they come in so handy for checking welds for cracks..

a powerful horseshoe magnet will work..  with a small squeeze bulb of magnaflux powder..

We have some crack checking kits at work.  Spray can of stuff, ultra-violet light, glasses.

I doubt there is any problem with the arm.

Bending is most likely to create cracks at the surface, if any.

X-ray is for finding defects inside the original forging.

The spray stuff works fine.
