Build one or buy one?

I do not want to drill holes in a dash , would prefer a panel with 5 - 6 switches and start button.

Moroso and Quickcar have panels in the 85 - 95 dollar range on eBay.  I have no idea of switch quality.

Wire harness on my 1962 Falcon is old , brittle.  I may add a panel with ignition - start - fuel - water pump- cooling fan on the car.  I have installed 2 switches into the holes for the radio controls for now.  I Need to do something different.

I have some switches from Del City, good quality and a push button for start... these parts are around here somewhere in a box.

Im not a fan of painless products, but this panel was perfect for my model A, the panel has one toggle switch pre-wired for turn signals.  The black lettering from painless wipes off with laquer thinner so you can label them any way you want.  It has no fuse panel though.

On the Nova I mounted this box from Rickie Jones, because it is hinged and drops out for maintenance.

If you need supplies Super Duty Headquarters on Elliott has a lot of nice stuff.  relays, fuse panels, etc.

Glen, good looking panels you have.  I know the Model A switch panel is easy access via your foot...

I found  information  on Yellowbullet.com site too.

thanks.

for push button starter switches.. you do have several options..

10 bucks at most autozones... dorman/motormite  #85984

this one at 23.. usually special order..   LS1156

this lever type is also 23 bucks... special order...  LS990

this is for the starter only.. 2 position.. off and momentary on..  as far as i could tell...

i would think... that if you kept an eye out for broken cast aluminum transmission pans...   a section of the pan rail and the side.. might be just perfect for a 90 degree flanged switch panel..

you might even find that a complete section including part of the bottom might work out nice.. like a piece of Z angle... so the switches fit in the middle and the bottom is slightly covered...

perhaps.. even a complete  forward transmission pan like is used on the 4l30E transmissions overdrive section..   something the size of a bread baking  pan...     that bolted down could even make it dust tight..  ...
just so other people know what it looks like.. i know you have them on your work bench already to store parts in..

the little one on the left in this image..

these are just ideas.... as always...

Wayne,  thanks for the info.

I have never worked on  4l30e trans.  Never seen one in the shop since we are performance based for 2 decades or more.
