I just read where George Poteet went 462 MPH today.  He is using a single 347 cubic inch engine and 2 wheel drive in the streamliner named "Speed Demon".  It is hard for me to grasp how significant this achievement is.  He was unable to back up the run for and FIA record but they will make another attempt tomorrow.  This combination and achieving this speed is truly breaking new ground on the salt.  A few years ago old salts would have laughed at you for saying that you thought someone would be able to do this.

Congratulations to George.

Well, today they went 445 mph with a 299 cubic inch engine.  They made the turn around but broke some parts in the driveline before they began there run.  Truly amazing.

They are switching now to the 4 cyclinder and rumor is that they will try to make a 400 mph plus pass with it tomorrow.

What a week for the Speed Demon crew.
