I have someone looking at using a NorthStar drivetrain in their next project.  What are some items he should be looking at when considering these parts?  Any clues as to what breaks at what mileage?
I'm not trying to talk him into or out of this, I just want to be able to tell him what to look for and what maintenance to expect.

TIA,
Stevie G.

NorthStars seem to run forever.  My wife has had two and they gave her no poroblems what so ever.

I looked into the NorthStar a couple of years ago with the thought of putting one in a roadster.  It is all very doable but it is a very expensive proposition.

Check out the Cadillac Hot Rod Fabrications web site http://www.chrfab.com/ and you will see what I mean.

I understand the early engines (92/93) have the easiest electronics to work with.  But the later engines are stronger and have more pep.

The belhousing bolt pattern is the same as the Chevy 60 degree V6.
Not sure where the starter locates.

Street rod parts for those motors are expensive.
