I have two sets of the shorty headers that were made to replace the exhaust manifolds on trucks, both have not been coated and have been on for over 5 years and now I am hearing leaks on both. I am planning on getting some better quality gaskets and see if that fixes the leaks but just how long do they last.

you can use a shop vacuum on blow.. or a leaf blower taped to the exhaust pipe.. and soapy water to check for leaks...

i don't like using an air hose up the tail pipe..  it can build too much pressure sometimes..

headers crack and leak sometimes..  i have to weld jeep 4.0 OEM headers all the time..

i installed the headers on moms F250 with a 360 FE.. in the late 70's.. they are still on there today..  about 6 or 7 sets of gaskets so far..
