I have a pan fill C-4 that slides into third at slow speeds,if I am into the gas a little it shifts firm.  I have checked vacumn and adjusted the modulator valve but no change but I have heard that there are different length push rods for the modulator valve.  When I pulled the trans out of a van in a junkyard it looked like it had been gone through so I was wondering if there are different pushrods then maybe the wrong one got installed,if there were actually different pushrods anyone know if I can still buy them.

Make the push rod out of 1/8 inch weld rod.

Add some length to the rod...  @ .100  longer , you should see a difference = later shift
