02 Trailblazer shift cable replacement

Hello;
The wife's Trailblazer had a problem this morning in that the shifter completely bound up and the car was in gear! I had a mobil mechanic that works on our stuff at work go and give it a look see. He found that a nylon bushing had broken and the shift cable had came off the detent on the transmission. He said he would make a part to repair the situation but I should order a new cable from Chevy.
I am kind of thinking I can do the replacement myself but I am having some problems trying to find out how to go about this and get the job done right, after all, it is the wife's car and she can make my life a hell on earth if she wants to!
Anyone ever tackled this job with ant success??

Hello;
All you Trailblazer fans (not too many here) I have fixed the problem I had earlier. With the help of a Chilton book I got on that auction site as well as the correct Delco part (almost 50% off) from the same place!
Job wasn't had, removing the console was a challenge but all in all, in a hour and a half the thing was done and back on the road!
