I couldnt get $800 for my parts anglia at the swap meet one year.My sister in law listed the parts on ebay and within 3wks I had $1700 in sales plus the body with 1 door ,and a pair of rear fenders left over. I ended up getting $1300 for that the next year. Not bad for a $500 parts car that I had bought for the rocker panels.I even had people email and ask for stuff that wasnt listed. I sent a heater core and fan to sweden!

Just incase anyone is curious I'm still selling on ebay like gangbusters.

May not be as lucrative as baseball cards but magazines do sell pretty well.

I have now found out 'salvaging' magazines for the ads, articles and pics can be more profitable than trying to sell an entire issue.

I recently sold a 3 page foldout ad for a 69 Plymouth RoadRunner for $4.25.

Also sold a single page pic for $4.25 as well.

Nickels and dimes compared to the stuff you all probably have been selling, but it's better than nothing for me.

I've also branched out into Pictorial Calendar Picture pages selling individually, seems to be a lot of interest in those. Kinda has me wishing I could upgrade to a 11x17 A3 scanner and a 15" guillotine paper cutter.

Heh, heh, also, I'm kinda getting a kick out of my going thru my old magazines and finding stuff I think our kind of 'enthusiats' might like. Those old names 'Ed Roth' 'Honest Charley' 'Tom McMullen' sure do bring back memories.

New rates coming on March 30.  Stuff that starts under $1 is free to list.  Other rates changing also.  I've been selling car models that I picked up at an estate sale lately.  They'd been started, but not finished.  I sold a White Freightliner model for over $26.  I've got a lot of little stuff to list when the 30th gets here.

QuoteDear yeoman58:

Starting March 30, 2010 selling on eBay will be a better deal than ever!

   * List Auction-style FREE--no Insertion Fees--when you start your Auction-style listing under $1.

   * Get new, lower Insertion Fees for all other start prices.

   * Either way, pay one easy Final Value Fee of 9% of the winning bid (but never more than $50)-and pay only if your item sells.

   * List in Fixed Price for 50ยข, with Final Value Fees for the most part staying the same.

This new standard fee structure will replace the current "first 5 listings free"--you'll pay no Insertion Fees whenever you list Auction-style and start pricing under $1!*

Get complete details on the new eBay fees and get ready to SELL!

Sincerely,

eBay Seller Team

Geeze, I can't believe I have 450+ auctions listed now.

I've just about converted over to selling calendar pics instead of magazines, although the Girly Car Guy mags seem to still be selling.

Will be nice to see the freebie .99 auctions deal in April, trouble is it only applies to the first 100 auction per month, it appears I'll beat that in the first week.

Woohoo looks like a lot of folks in Australia are enjoying my calendar pics.
