Rodder's Roundtable / tilt column in 55 chevy
February 08, 2006, 02:14:48 AM
I have a tilt column in my 55, don't know what it came from. The problem is that the previous owner didn't index the column when he welded the rag joint flange on. when I am sitting with the left directional on any touch of the wheel and it will shut off. I will have to grind the flange off and reweld in the proper position but how do I know what that position should be? Can anyone help?

Thanks.

WOW!   A couple more weeks blocking mine and I can pull out the paint gun. Sure is surprising how much you miss before block sanding. Mine will be blue and white though. tried to attach a picture but haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Rodder's Roundtable / door looms
December 11, 2005, 04:55:44 AM
I just put a set of the pictured wire looms on my 55 chevy. these are pretty flexible and look great.had to modify the inside of the door so they can slide in and out. inside diameter is 1/2". Got them from A1 electric.

Rodder's Roundtable / paint cost

1 gallon of paint will become 2 once it is reduced. used 1 gallon to paint my 67 goat and still had a quart of paint left. good luck.

make sure what you are applying to is free of old paint. will not last long over a painted surface.must be down to metal.

Rodder's Roundtable / parts suppliers
December 04, 2005, 02:37:03 PM
have used summit, eastwood, yearone, danchuk, and classic chevy with very good luck.
called classic auto parts for some door wire looms, needed the 1/2" ones, they said they would call me back after calling their supplier and never did. this was going to be a first time ordering but will not order from them now.
