QuoteP.S. Cindy wants to know, who's Kathy? ;)

I stand corrected! Sorry, it was a rough day at the office.

Nothing like a stupid comment to help remember!

Quote from: "enjenjo"Anyone hear from him?

He sent us a note a few weeks ago in which he said things were going well, that he and Kathy were on the road to recovery (not his words).

He sounded in high spirits.

It was a good note to read.

Our condolences to you and your family. My dad and my wife's dad are both no longer with us. I can tell you it's a sad day when they leave us, but more and more good memories pop up as time goes on. I'll still not get over missing him though.

Rodder's Roundtable / Glass Channel
December 05, 2006, 01:26:15 PM
I think I just saw the glass channel stuff in a Steele Rubber Catalog if it's the same stuff you need.
It is an insert thingie that probably goes into the channels you are hunting.

You find a source yet?[/quote]

I did but no return calls yet. I just called another place here in town. Same story, "I'll call Danaher Motion and get back to you with price and availability".

Rodder's Roundtable / Repairs
December 04, 2006, 11:53:52 AM
Quote from: "enjenjo"Getting any where with repairs Ken?

I met with the Hagerty adjuster at the body shop where the work will be done on Friday afternoon. They both Took lots of notes and are working up the estimates. There was more damage under the hood than I thought. The radiator & fan brackets were torn loose and the A/C condenser was damaged. It appears the tilt hinges were bent, but maybe not. It also looks as though the whole cab and front end will need painted so as to make the clear coat work. (What do I know?) That, and at least 1/2 of the bed, assuming he can find a good stopping point.

The Hagerty guy was reassuring so I don't expect any problems.

The first step is to get the actuators, so the front end can be realigned.

Rodder's Roundtable / Linear actuators
December 02, 2006, 07:45:55 AM
As a result of the accident last weekend I'm in the market to replace the two linear actuators (electric motors that tilt the front end) The ones we originally used have numbers, but no brand name. I know they were bought at a show, but I can't put my hands on the literature just yet.
Does anyone have a source for these things? I think they might have been used in conjunction with fiberglas truck bed covers and were rather pricey.

I'd like to replace them with the same ones if I can find them.

Thanks,

Rodder's Roundtable / Crash!!!

Yesterday, while driving home from the Turkey Run in Daytona, Vicki was squeezed into the side of a motorhome by someone who couldn't decide whether they wanted to drive in the median or the roadway. Her truck sustained some damage to the right side fenders and the tilt front end. The state trooper wrote the report as "not at fault" which will help, but she is heartbroken that she crashed her truck. Fortunately there were no injuries, so all is well in that respect.

I guess we'll see how Hagerty operates.

This was our first visit to Daytona, and we had a great time otherwise. We met Lee (Grandadeo), but didn't see Bryan.

Vicki and I are planning on being there. We'll be driving our truck since the Caddy is in for surgury. We're parking with the HAMB group in the club parking area 820-830s at the east end of the lake, close to gate 70.
I hope we can make it to Yellow 9-298, that's Yellow 9-298, right? <8-)

Bummer!

I don't envy you having to go through this.

It's really a waste of energy and resources and it takes too long to bounce back regardless.

Rodder's Roundtable / insulation

[Ken, how about some insulation?

Ken,
I have 7 rolls of 6' wide foil faced industrial insulation that's taking up space in my garage. I'd like to move it out and I'm a motivated seller.
