Thanks for your responses....

I just cant believe that no one will insure "drag racing" ,yet they will insure Targa racing which to me seems more dangerous than racing down a straight strip! Stoopid.....!

The insurance company I deal with has asked me to email them with a complaint. I thought by posting here I could see how others felt about this as the more people who complain, the better chance we have of being heard and something being done about it....

So please - more suggestions & responses!!!!!

Hey Everyone,

Wanted to get some feedback on how everyone goes getting insurance on your hot rod when going drag racing??!!

Im in Australia and insured with Vigil (for those in the states - our main two hot rod type insurers are Vigil & Shannons) and they have BOTH emphatically stated they will not insure our hot rod when drag racing, even at an ANDRA event....

So what does everyone else do? We have just built a wild 351 for the '34 and wanna take it but this is a worry. I dont worry so much about us in the car but sometimes you get a turkey beside you who just doesnt know when to give up.....

Whats the insurance like in the states?? Do you guys have the same problem??

Rodder's Roundtable / The Passing of an Aussie Icon.

I, like many others here, only spoke to Ian for brief moments. My father had known him for many years, and as a younger bloke, Ian was one of the few who would acknowledge a younger guy with an early holden. He was an inspiration and surely encouraged many wanna be hot rodders to actually get out there and join the sport.

Ian just joined into a conversation and you felt that you had known him your whole life - like it was the most comfortable thing ever. I was very upset when my dad told me about his passing & give my sincere condolensces to his family. My family attended the funeral and like others have said, it was a huge affair and testament to what a fantastic guy he was.

What a pity there are not more people like him on this planet. A sad loss to the rodding community.

Rodder's Roundtable / My Hero!

Just a short note to say a big THANK YOU  :D  to Carps for stopping to help a lass in need on Saturday! I was on a 'quick' drive in my Dad's 1928 Dodge Pickup and the distributor decided to give up. Thankfully I wasnt far from home but 1 * 360 Hemi Powered Dodge + 24yo lady = not going anywhere fast. Carps came to my rescue and while he didnt get me going (no one was going to unless new dizzy was at hand) I was enlightened with the story of Dolly and her boyfriend.

So thanks again Carps (and the others who pulled up to help me) for trying to help and ensuring I was okay.  :D  :D
