I also have a 4 post lift.  My reasoning when I bought it over a 2 post were,
#1. I mostly build cars and want the weight on all four wheels when setting it up.
#2. I have arthritis and bending over to set the arms on a 2 post is a pain (literally)
#3 I have the jacking bridge so lifting the front or rear up is no problem.
#4. The entire center of the car underneath is open from front to rear for anything I've needed to do so far.

All in all, I'm pleased with my choice for the things that I do.  Tom...

Quote from: "kb426"It's been a while. Are you driving the car?
I drove it a little to work some bugs out . I came down with rheumatoid arthritis and it took a while for the doctors to get it somewhat under control so that put a cramp in my garage time :x .  Lately I have been straightening out some wiring and just got some new carpeting to replace the old stuff. Come spring, I' want to get the front end lined up and put some radials on it. Hopefully good to go after that...

Quote from: "kb426"I like what you're doing but I have a question. From what I remember, wasn't the wide whites and caps more of a late 50's deal? By the early 60's I started seeing chrome wheels and metallic paint. Just curious if some areas had different fads. :)

I think you are correct. by 63 thin whitewalls ( if any) and chrome wheels were pretty much "it"  Tom...

Quote from: "moose"While not being a stickler for correctness I am going for an early 60's vibe. the orange and ivory paint with steelies and wide whites...

I like your thinking :D   Tom...

Hello All, Merry Christmas!  I was wondering what to use to resize photos to use here.  I used to have Irfanview but my new windows 10  it seems different and more complicated. Also had a batch resizer program but can't seem to find it now.  Any suggestions???  Tom...

Wow, time flies!  Have been puttering on the Chevy as time and my arthritis allows. Got the engine changed and running and the next step was the exhaust.  I don't care for the popping sound twin pipes and mufflers on a 6.  I wanted something smoother.  So I had the pipes coming out of the exhaust manifolds go into one---all the way back to a one in and 2 out muffler.  almost sounds like  a v8. Got the hood and front bumper back on and ready to drive it a little and work out any bugs.  Tom...

In the Air Force we had to hydrostatic test them every 5 years-- I never saw a bad one.  2years ago, I replaced my home shop compressor, A big old v twin Westinghouse compressor and the tank was hydrostatically tested in the 50's at the Brooklyn navy Yard!  Tank was still good.  Tom...
