Rodder's Roundtable / Shop layout ideas
November 26, 2009, 11:00:08 PM
I just finished a 32x40 shop and i went with a 16 ft bench on one side wall and 2 rolling benchs 3x6
works good for having a bench in the far bays without taking up permanent room
ditto on the Garagejournal website Ions of ideas there

November 24, 2009, 02:29:16 PM
Terrible thing to hear
Our condolences to Jay's family and close friends
He helped my out so much on my 1st hotrod and never complained or asked for anything in return.
I'll miss him
Godspeed Jay

I had to heat my brake and clutch pedal to get clearance
5 speed Tremec mated to a 401 nailhead in a A
My clutch pedal is now about 2 inches away from the kickpanel on the left
i didn't want to cut them so i just repositioned them
I can take pics if it'll help

Rodder's Roundtable / OT- what new vehicle
January 07, 2009, 02:27:00 PM
I work at a GM dealer so I'm a little biased but for god sakes don't buy a Pontiac Torrent/Chev. Equinox.
I am so sick of fixing these things

early 90's chevs had them though and probly wouldn't be a hard swap

Rodder's Roundtable / RRTer advice seriously needed
October 12, 2008, 06:53:30 PM
This is what I would do in no particular order

Move to Cold Lake Alberta ,every oil company within 100 miles is looking for truck drivers
You can name your price and drive 30 days a month if you want to.
I'd drop the 5.3 idea and go with a 350/305 and 700 trans combo.
The money you save I'd use on some better wheels/tires and brake upgrades
Do the body as you have time and money I'd rather see a driver that's rough with a good powertrain than vice versa
Set your priorities llife is more than important than cars
Pics would help

Rodder's Roundtable / Re: Wedding car
October 12, 2008, 09:35:55 AM
Quote from: "enjenjo"My neice got married yesterday, she asked that I get an old car for her and her new husband to leave the ceremony in. I borrowed this from a buddy. She didn't see it until they were leaving. Air ride, Northstar powered. She was pleased.

As well she should!
My niece used our 64 Impala last month for her wedding car and i took it into town on the sat. morning to wash it.
Coming home a older couple flagged me down and asked if they could hire me and the car to drive them to their wedding later in the afternoon
Had to say no thanks as my niece already had dibs.
My niece said i should have blew her off and made a few hundred for the afternoon

3 hours from Edmonton but it's over 4 1/2 by the time you skirt the city and make it into the raceway.
Might have to make a cruise down to SIR next summer just for the helluvit

wish I lived closer to Saskatoon so I could get into racing
I'd give up hotrods in a heartbeat just so I could do the 1/4 mile
way to go boys!!

Rodder's Roundtable / late model head scratcher

check that the ignition relay in the underhood junction block is no sticking on
If that's ok I'd head to the ignition switch just so long as the remote start has been removed completely

As soon as I seen your post it rang a bell with me
Awhile back there was a ton of discussion on the HAMB about this fat ripoff artist
seems he isn't worth dealing with

Idea's anybody  :?:

Bob.....

I've since gotten a used M-van wiper motor and I think it'll fit in the header
I got the body down at my friends bodyshop getting some metalwork done on it
As soon as I get the body back I'll check it out and post my findings
