Rodder's Roundtable / Classic Car Dealers in The USA
September 10, 2007, 02:28:26 AM
Are there any other good sites for finding early cars and pickups? At the moment Ebay is the only one that is known. Chasing a Ford pickup 30/52, want a driver, to import to Australia.

Rodder's Roundtable / Coming to America
July 22, 2007, 03:05:29 AM
I am planning a trip to the US, arriving in time for the Pomona swapmeet on October 14th. It will be a holiday for the family but I want to buy something to bring back to Australia, a pre war Ford coupe or a nice 56 Vicky, if I can find something. Are there any events scheduled in California, after the swapmeet, that is hotrod orientated or where I can find a car to buy. Anyone know when the Hemmings is published. The other must do things are to visit Alcatraz and the Arizona Memorial on the way home. My wife wants to go to the glass floor thingy at the Grand Canyon, spose I better agree or will get a sore ear. Will probably spend around 5 weeks in the US.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thx

Hi Frank, I got a PM from Hooter, it turns out that I know him. He is a rodder of note in Perth, and a fuel injection expert to boot. Good bloke and safe as houses for the forum. I will vouch for him, pls admit.
Thx, 32V8

Members Rides / Out with the old ; in with the new

This 32 V8 Sedan was purchased from South Africa and imported into Australia in 2001 pretty much as you see it except for the lowering and wheels. It was still fitted with the original 32, 21 stud flathead, which went great and never let me down. It was a daily driver and I was a little sorry to part with it.

This is the new car, 40 Deluxe Coupe, actually still in California waiting shipping. It will run a hot flathead, maybe blown, and left basically stock except for lowering. I have plans to build a teardrop camper to tow behind it. Always liked the 40 coupe so no excuse now.

I have bought a set of Coker 16 inch radials. They are on there way to Australia. I am a bit peeved about it coz there is a thread on Fordbarn, giving Coker a bagging. I wish I had bought Diamondbacks, but will have to wait and see.

Yep, its easy to forget who your mates were/are. When this happens I get my Dads diary out and read some of his entries from New Guinea and Northen Australia in 1942/3. Very very scary stuff! If it wasnt for the Yanks we would have squinty eyes, absolutely no doubt about that, so dont ever forget.

A pic of my new ride, it is currently still in California awaiting shipment. I intend to lower it heaps and run a hot flathead, maybe blown, not positive at this stage. Last car was a 32 Ford V8 sedan, original flathead, nice car, drove it almost every day. You can see I am a flathead man, have a lot of bits collected in my shed.

Rodder's Roundtable / A sad day for the ASRF
February 23, 2005, 04:12:15 AM
Hi, Im another Australian Hot Rodding refugee, angry as a hornet with what is happening. I have elected not to renew membership in the ASRF for obvious reasons. I would like to stay in touch with the Aussies that have been forced to find other forums. The Cruisin website (cruisin.com.au) is still in operation from Perth and it is hoped that the ASRF lunacy will not spread and force it to close , but there is no guarantee.  Hopefully most of the HRI forum guys will drop by the cruisin site once in a while.
