I'm kind of new here, and don't post alot but I do a lot of reading here.  I'm planning on getting to the fairgrounds Friday early afternoon.  I'm leaving from Central Michigan.  I'd like to help if need be.  I'd also like to put some faces with the names.  Will there be room to park near the RRT canopies?  I think I know where it will be set-up, I've been to the Nats North before.

Welcome,I am glad to see you are continuing your education and have plans for your future.  I am a recently retired teacher and when I see guys graduate from High School and don't have any real plans they sometimes end up in trouble.  Old cars and the people around them can be a positive influence on young people and with your car and plans it sounds like you're on the right road.  I think you'll learn alot here, I have.

We're staying at the Courtyard by Marriott on Centerpoint parkway and Opdike Rd.  between Birmingham and Pontiac.  It's at about 18 Mile and is just about 1 mile from Woodward.  No three day minimum and reasonable rates.  I'm not sure of availability, I booked it in March.  Last time we were at the cruise, a couple of years ago, there were rooms avialable.  There's also a couple other motels right around there too.  Might be worth checking.

I don't post on the RRT very often, but look alot.  My son and I are planning on being there.  I drive a dark blue fenderless 29 Model A coupe.  My son and I have been rebuilding a 67 Chevy pick-up that's lowered with an airbag suspension, and it's in grey primer.  We tend to hang out north of 12 Mile, cruising most of the time but stopping when we can find a decent spot.  Is there a spot where the RRT are planning on meeting?  I'd llike to meet up with others.

If you are thinking of lowering it check out Early Classic Enterprises and Classic Performance, both offer lowering kits, including drop spindles, springs, etc.  We've been lowering a '67 and although it differs from your '64 both companies have a lot of useful info and were helpful.

I have been a Special Education teacher for the last 30 years, coached Special Olympics, and regular ed. basketball, and I AM RETIRING AT THE END OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR.  I had a few cars when younger but got out of the hobby for a while.  Started building cars again about 15 years ago.  Now I can build a few more and would like to try and make a few bucks at it, but will probably get a part time job with no stress and no wierd parents or administrators.

One thing to consider before deciding what weight spring is how angled are the coil-overs.  The more angled the coil-overs the lower the effective rate and this will effect your ride.  I have a model a coupe highboy and run the 180 lb. springs, they are angled about 20 degrees and it seems about right.  Speedway motors has a section of their catalog that has a formula to figure out which springs based on weight and angle.  Check it out.

I saw him run his bike in about 1967 at MotorCity dragway near Detroit.  Put the bike on a rear stand, reved it up and leaned forward, dropping it off the stand, about half track he knocked over a couple of cones, but never let up.  Now I live about 20 miles from his stomping grounds and know a guy that grew up with him.  My friend said he was a wild and crazy guy when he was young, always trying new ways to go fast and not afraid of anything.

I want to use a 3x2 setup on my SBC.  I would like to have a setup that uses EFI but systems like the Moon system ($US3600) is way out of my price range.  Do any of you know of any other systems - I am looking mainly for the hardware components like throttle bodies etc that look like the old carbie systems.

If it all gets to difficult I will be happy to use a triple carbie setup.  I have checked a few sites on the net but have no idea of the reliability of the supplier or the system being offered.  From what I can determine the triple rochester appears to be the best system.  Does anyone have experience of which carbie setup is the best (if that is possible - reliability is a big factor as I do not want to spend hours and hours trying to work out how to tune the things) and which suppliers are reliable and reasonably priced.

I bought a 3x2's set-up on ebay and knew it was incomplete and didn't have the carbs modified when I bought it.  I bought parts from vintage speed and he gave me alot of advise on what modifications needed to be made.  I understand the slow service problem though.  It is complete now and runs well.  I have the rochester carbs, and polished Offy manifold.   The whole thing cost about $1000, with all the mods. and parts.

Looking Good!  You're making considerable progress.  Saw your last pictures, and your getting there.  Where are you located.  Is it someplace warm?  If not, your making me look bad, by not getting as much done.  I blame the cold weather.

I have about $17,500 in my 29 Model A coupe.  I did all the work except for upholstery and auto trans rebuild.  The body was parts of 6 cars and I did a lot junkyard shopping.  I already had a 350 chevy and auto trans, but I had to rebuild the engine.  I think anybody doing if for under $10,000 has spent a lot of time junkyard shopping and the car probably is barebones.  Just my $.02.

I usually dislike snowmobiles because they disrupt my sleep at night and drive all over my yard and fields without permission but it would be fun to knock them down a few pegs with some good old rodder ingenuity.

I want one of those, that would be a riot in the snow.  The snowmobilers around here would fall off their sleds.  They fly down our road at about 60mph.  Pass one of them with that and I'm sure they would shake in their boots.  It's a rodders snow machine. Great!  Are there many of those machines in Sweden?

I should have mentioned earlier that I too am a crabby old teacher and proud of it.  I am retiring at the end of the year and I have a right to be crabby.
