A mechanic friend of mine told me that berrymans b-12 was mostly acetone. He said that he buys acetone to use instead of b-12 because by buying by the gallon he saves lots of $

Rodder's Roundtable / Check this one out
October 25, 2005, 05:45:47 PM
About 2 years ago I put a new blower motor in the heat/ac on my 86 astro van. About a year later my wife told me that the motor went out again. She said that when she turned it on high it would vibrate like crazy. I told her to go by the parts house on the way home and pick up another one and I would replace it when I got home. When I got home I got in it to pull it into the shop and noticed a fowl odor. When I removed the blower I found a dead mouse stuck to the inside of the fan! I could imagine him using it as an excercise wheel up to the point where she turned it on high! I guess he couldn't handle the G forces!

Rodder's Roundtable / How will gas prices affect your rodding?
September 02, 2005, 10:32:39 AM
It looks like my rodding plans will change for the better. The coupe gets 22mpg opposed to the trucks 16. Looks like it will be cruising to work in the coupe more! Of course I have been riding the Hog more too. IT get 40mpg.
Life can be good if you let it!
I'm just greatful I dont have to have a boat to get around. Dont have one of those.........yet.

Rodder's Roundtable / Question on Bowtie Overdrives

The picture shows the tv cable housing attached to the base of the rear carb. The tv cable itself attaches to the center carb. The slotted linkage allows the center carb to open a ways before the end carbs open allowing you to run off of the center carb only the same way you run off of the fron barrels only on a 4 barrel. The linkage on the end carbs are attached closer to the throttle shafts which opens them up at a quicker rate. This way all three carbs will reach 'wide open' at the same time.

Rodder's Roundtable / Long term project
March 30, 2005, 05:12:41 PM
I have had the same 38 Chevy coupe since 1974. Thats 31 years. I drove it up to 85. It sat from 85 to 95, spent 5 years rebuilding it and have been driving it and working on it since. Also have a mid engine corvair I started building in 1989. Got all of the mechanicals done about 5 years ago. Been waiting on body work and paint since. I've thought about selling it several times but a guys got to have at least one long term project to tide him over between projects.
