Rodder's Roundtable / Vale: John 'Chopper' Katsanis - Australia
March 29, 2011, 06:12:11 PM
I met John n Tina back in the early '80's at a Rock n Roll Dance I was running and formed a life long friendship.
John went on to open John's Rod n Kustom Shop and many many sucessful Hot Rod events
Tina's passing broke Johns heart.
.
I had many buisness dealings with John and all were without any problems infact his mail order dealings were swift and always correct.
John was always the gent with a smile and a handshake and a word of encouragement to the younger rodders as my son TJ will attest to , John always found time to chat to TJ and showed genuine interest in his life.
John will be sadly missed by the Australian rodding fraternity ...
Condolences to the Katsanis Family and John's many friends.
RIP John 'Chopper' Katsanis.

Rodder's Roundtable / What are you doing today?
December 31, 2010, 12:44:32 AM
Over the last 3 weeks we've had a couple of extremes , first was 6" of rain overnight causing floods , followed by a locust plague with billions of them visiting and taking my lawns with them , today we have 100kph winds and a temp of 41 c ( 103 F ) so I'm relaxing in front of the air con and sipping on a cool beverage !
The above grass was green and lush from the earlier rain .... 24 hrs after the locusts hit town it was patchy and brown , now all that's left are weeds and bare earth ..... all vehicles need a bug screen fitted to avoid clogging and windscreens need cleaning between 30 and 50 kms .
We've just seen the end of a 13 yr drought so were looking forward to a bit of green thru summer ... it's not going to happen now.
Up north in Queensland severe rain has seen many towns evacuated , houses flooded to the eaves in some cases , highways cut and if ever it stops raining a huge clean up .... naturally in towns cut off the fresh vegies are tripleing in cost due to crops being lost , odd when they cant be getting new stock as roads are closed !! .... Rockhampton the media reported Brocoli @ $10.00 per kilo

Rodder's Roundtable / Merry Christmas
December 23, 2010, 09:05:39 PM
Seasons Greetings to all RRT members and families ....
Here in Oz we're looking forward to a warm day (forecast is 29c or in your lingo around 85 F )
Many have the traditional Roast with all the trimmings , however this year we're opting for a BBQ and Seafood Dinner.
I've been dropping the hint for a Channelled '34 again all year but dont like my chances !

Rodder's Roundtable / car selling/buying bs list
September 09, 2010, 12:03:44 AM
Paybacks are sweet ...
After many " I'll be there to look at it soon " stories I once decided to get peoples phone number thinking if they gave it they'd show up.
A fella rings , gets my address and says he'll be here before 5pm ..... no show . Around 3.00am mother nature woke me , remembering the " I'll be there to look at it soon " bloke I dialed his number , after several rings an obvious woken from slumber voice answers "Hello" ... "hey mate " i chirped in my friendliest voice " you were coming to look at a car i'm selling " a rather angry voice gnarled " do you know wot time it is ? " ..... politely i replied " Yep a touch after 3.00am and i wanna go to bed but didnt wanna let you down "
Oddly he never did come n buy it ... and i'd bet he never gives his number out again.
