Thanks for the welcome.

The reason I was thinking about dropped spindles was the way my front tires where fitting in the wheel well.  I'm building a 40 ford pickup and I wanted the top of the tires to be just inside the top of the fender opening(as you're looking from the side).  After I posted my question I went back to the shop and started measuring things to see if a 2" drop would impact anything.  I have about 7" of clearance on the front crossmember.  So I don't think I can afford to lose 2" so I'm going to look at different tire sizes, I'm using some 185/65-15 up front so I might go with a 205/70-15 to put the tire up into the fender some.

I've been reading the forum for a while and I've found this site to be one of the most informative and friendly to the new guys/gals.  40 Chevy is a friend of mine and I helped out some on his car.  I did a search on the forum to see if this question has been asked before, but I didn't see an answer.  Finally my question, which 2" dropped spindles are the best bang for the buck.  I've seen some of the discussion (among vendors) "don't use this one because it's cast, only use steel, only use forged" So which is right???? Any info on which one is best is most appreciated.

Thanks and sorry about the long post.
