Hey Denise, be thankful your down THERE and NOT up HERE!

Otherwise you would need those windshield wiper blades! ( a heater and a top might come in handy too) It dropped below freezing last night and some snow fell! (mind you scraping frost off the windshield is easier than bugs!! )

Be safe lady, and remember Dave's Rule of the Road; Shinney Side UP !!

Love ya!
Digger

Quote from: "C9"Thanks for the info Uncle Bob.
Interesting reading.

So far the UHMW doesn't seem to have a problem with engine oil.

I made a set of UHMW biscuits for the rear motor mounts on a flat 6 Plymouth that leaked oil on the right side and the mounts hung in there ok for a couple of years.

It could be interesting to put some UHMW cutoffs into an oil filled and perhaps gasoline filled container to see what happened.

Looking from here and the fact that UHMW is used in industry for sliding bearing applications as well as an impact resistant material that common conveyer belt and other industrial mechanism lubricating liquids don't seem to hurt it.

Jay, now that Bob has pointed out that there are different types of the material you and I commonly referred to as UHMW, do you know what type the piece you sent me is? (it sure machines nice) The motor mounts for the flathead are well away from concentrated heat.

Just curious.

Rodder's Roundtable / Wire terminals
May 08, 2005, 06:13:47 PM
AMP is one brand, (Aircraft Marine Products) of terminal end that I use exclusively. They are the high end type; brazed barrel. They are available in both insulated and un-insulated.

I also use their crimp tools. (they are designed for the ends they make)
The set that I have, that Skip shows, is very much the same. (interchangeable dies) They allow for a wire and insulation crimp at the same time

They also make the various types of shrink tube. Single wall, double wall (with sealant) and "hard" wall. (improves mechanical connection)

Check under "Aircraft Electrical Supplies" in the yellow pages.

Mike, drop me a note.
Before Nesstronics was laid to rest, I had a multipart piece in the works.

Rodder's Roundtable / Old RRT!!! its up !

Well, the signature appeared.

Fat Cat; maybe a "quick fix" for the moment, ("reply" at top causing a "quote" to appear) would be to tell people to use the REPLY at the BOTTOM of the last message.

Quote from: "Fat Cat"I finally got that working about 3AM Friday about 6 hous before I had to be to work.

I have plans as to what I want to do with the contents of the old forum. However it will take some volunteers and alot of time. I have found absolutely no way to convert the old message format to the new format. So it will take some work.

FIRST OF ALL; THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK!!

I think I can live, with the "REPLY" box bring up a "Quote" for a while. (as it just did now) I used the "reply" box at the top of your post.

Edit: I checked the "attach signature", the did a "preview", then Submited; signature didn't appear. (original message before this edit)
Now am checking "signature" box again (in Edit mode) I won't "preview" this time. Will see what happens.

What steps are needed to move "old Tech" over to a New TECH section?
Will it be a case of "cut and paste?"
And can any of us help YOU??

I noticed the same thing.
Next question is, "Will the old TECH Fourm get transfered to this one?"
Hate to lose it. A lot of good stuff.

Quote from: "HotRodLadyCrusr"I was just teasing my good buddy Dave, sweetheart Dave, but I guess it didn't come off as a joke.

No matter how many underscores, or lack of underscores, Digger Dave is still Digger_Dave.

Aww..gee..I... don't know what to say!

"Buddy Dave", "Sweetheart Dave", gosh now you have me blushing!

Just for that; Will you be my Valentine??

(hey Denise, we gotta stop meeting like this!!)

Quote from: "HotRodLadyCrusr"Who's this Digger______Dave dude???  He doesn't look fimiliar..... your going to get flamed buddy if you don't do an intro!
He's an electrical wizard from what I've gathered.  He does that computer to injection stuff and looms for anything.  Maybe he can help you to get some decent gas mileage outta "Big Olds" with a little change to injection!!
Rochie

Yep, was here before the "big switch!"

Hey Denise, don't you remember when we............!!

Rochie, Thanks for the compliments; but I'm behind the times; "computer to injection" ... I'm still stuck on page one;.. let's see, wire A to wire B..!!

And as far as "looms"; haven't done them for a number of years; trifocals and old age kinda slows ya down!!

Quote from: "Rochie"Digger,  seems like I just talked to you!  I had to re-register like a lot of other people because I couldn't remember my password.  I don't post much on the RRT but I do know a lot of the folks.
Quote from: "Digger__Dave"Gee.. it's like "old home week!"
Good to see all the 'ole timers comin' back!
talk to you guys later,
Rochie

Yep, it's me.
In addition to not remembering my old password; I have had a change in address, so even after finally remembering the password; I had to register under a new name. Still Digger Dave, BUT with TWO underscores between the names.

Quote from: "enjenjo"It didn't work Ken, try again

enjenjo, I re-registered, (note from yesterday and from the HAMB) but because I have had a change in email address, (all the "spam")
I had to modify my "handle" slightly.

So... now "Digger Dave" with ONE underscore won't let me in.
I have now re-registered with TWO underscores between the two names.
Hope this doesn't create a problem. :?:
