I've checked all the local stores...autozone,napa,advance auto, etc. Nobody has one. I was hoping somebody might know another way to compress the clutch springs without causing any damage? I would be willing to make whatever i need to as long as it doees'nt end up costing me more that the actual tool itself.

Rodder's Roundtable / clutch spring compressor
July 22, 2004, 10:01:23 PM
Does anyone know where I can get a clutch spring compressor for real cheap or to rent would be great. I'm about to rebuild a 700r4 and don't feel like paying $100 for a one time tool. I would love to hear any other tools or tricks that would work.
thanks guys

Rodder's Roundtable / tranny problem on 86 4x4
June 21, 2004, 08:16:09 PM
I am new here and was hoping someone could answer my transmission question. I have an 86 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4. everything was running fine until I sttopped in a parking lot in my neighborhood to talk to a friend. When I got out of the truck I heard what I thought was water pouring from my radiator but it was transmission fluid...A LOT OF IT. Needless to say I had it towed home and removed the bellhousing and when I start the engine the fluid runs out between the tourque conv. and the tranny. I don't know much about transmissions and was hoping to get a few tips or ideas before I started to remove the tranny and get it rebuilt or put new seals in myself. thanks for any help..
