Thanks joe for your help on my 54 project. A e100 van radiator will work and a 351 should drop into my crossmember mounts, Right? What about headers? Im running a lokar floorshift for the c4.Id like to rebuild the stock suspension( budget) but would like better steering( manual). Do you think i could get a saginaw 605 box to work? I may have to look for a 80 grenada as this car hasnt been driven since 1975 and the rear has to bee questionable. Thanks again for any advice. Regards Mike

If i drop a ford 351 w and c4 into my 54 merc will i have to change my oil pan& pickup?Does it need a front or rear sump? It doesnt have an engine or tranny at this time.I also want to keep the stock oem ifs but want to drop the ride height?Should i cut 2 coils off each spring or is there a better way?Id like to put a R&P steering conversion on it but there are no kits made that im aware off. Thanks

Hi Fellas im new here(ist post ) and id like to introduce myself. Im 55 yrs old and have just finished a complete resto on a 62 galaxie xl 500. I did all the bodywork and rebuilt the 390 fe. I farmed out the tranny rebuild. My next project is a 54 merc monterey 2 dr ht that i found on a farm in Kansas. I plan on putting in a sbf and c4 or c6 tranny and mildly kustomize it. im sure i will have questions as i proceed. Thanks Mike
