3 weeks to go - have surfed the net - found a hot rod shop, and a magazine...

apparently there is a cruise nite; but not while I'm there   :cry:

I'll do some more hunting in next week or so...

Who is planning on going? I'll be there friday and saturday.

me - in 2011.....

a little while back I saw a hot rod with little finned covers over the indicators...
they are attached using the two standard screws that hold the lens on.
the indicators were the aftermarket rectangular ones you see on many rods...
does anyone know who sells these?

I was another visitor from down under at my first Pleasanton. WOW...

what a great venue for a rod run - look for me again next year...

everyone I talked to said, " another Aussie, there's heaps of them here", but I didn't run into any.  :?  :?

I keep hearing about this and will be in LA next week - what is address, what day? what time ?

hearing about the NSRA year cut-off changes has caused mixed feelings...

1. I'm a pre-48 guy.

2. I've only been to one nats - syracuse 1995 - had a great time there...

3. I've been hearing that the numbers at the nat's have been dropping off - more entrants arrive in motorhomes than rods, etc.

4. but maybe, just maybe, people that haven't been for a while may come I back in their 50's ride and leave the motorhome at home...

5. I am planning to go to 2010 nat's; and this won't deter me..

to a lot of us aussies, this is the mecca, and we all want to make the pilgrimage - some do it every year...

will be in USA in August - planning on going to Pleasanton. Anyone else going to be there? Which day is best?

Have them sent to one of this board members homes.
Then they can mail it to you.

I've thought of that - I just need someone to volunteer to to do it...

time for an update - so far I have accumulated 1929 license plates from 30 USA states...

listed below is what I still need - if anyone has any of these plates for the year 1929, and are prepared to part with them, I am willing to pay fair prices...

I do see some of these on ebay; but often the vendors will only sell within USA - they don't know about the big wide world of hotrodding out there...

I'm planning a trip to the USA and want to go to Hot August Nights for a day or two - the full program runs from Friday 31st July to Sunday 9th August.

my question is - what day do they have the cars parked on display along the main street ?

I would assume either Sat 8th Aug or Sunday 9th Aug. ??
