Quote from: "40chevy"rovic,
Where in Mississippi are you located? I'm in Vicksburg. I may have a friend here at work that might be interested in your truck project. Sounds like a lot of work has been done to it. Is any of it assembled? Can you post some pictures? Remember that pictures 500 x 400 and under work best here. '53, is that like the one on Sanford & Son?
AL
I'M on the other side of the state in Columbus and the Sanford and Son truck was a '51 or '52,I think.1953,'54,'55,' ARE similar just different grilles,56 similar but doors and cab a little different.I don't have any picyures to post and would'nt know how if I did.I type with one finger and not real sharp with computers. If you have any Questions email me at vnewman@cdispatch.com.Everything on the chassis is assembled ,encluding engine/trans ,driveshaft.etc and it rolls .Body is apart, wasgoing to paint then assemble. You could finish paint, wire it up ,install glass and interior and be driving.

I have been a long time member but don't post much.I have been working on a '53 F100 for about 4 years.I have gone through 2 job lay offs, one for 6 months and the last one for 9 months.I have not been able to do  much to the truck for over a year.I'M working now but can't afford to do anything to the '53 and could use the money if I can sell it ,but have no idea of it's worth. Is it okay to post what I have done to the truck and hopefully you or the others could help me come up with a asking price?? Possibly someone on the board knows someone looking for a truck like this! THANKS!

I'm using '85 Mercury 5.0 in a '53 F100.Pull the timing cover off, mine had a fuel pump blockoff plate bolted on but no opening.Look on the inside of the cover and you can tell where the opening should be,drillout as much as possible then finish up with a diegrinder .Go get a fuelpump eccentric off any 289/302 to bolt on the camshaft.,some are one piece and some are two piece just use a cam gear for the same model. All smallblock Fords bolt up the same just different fittings or the angle of the fittings, also if you have clearance problems most vans (E100) used a fuel pump that shaped like it was upsidedown. You can use the duraspark module with the blue color on it or use the replacement HEI didtributor.
