Rodder's Roundtable / Trim fastening

Quote from: "enjenjo"This project is on the back burner right now. My chrome guy says he can handle silver solder no problem. And Nick I've found a local source for the tape. I think I am going to use a combination of fastening methods, studs at the ends, tape in the middle. Thanks for the ideas, I'll let you know when I do it.

Ok, if something happens and you can't get the tape let me know. We have them in stock and they are $6 a roll.

Quote from: "Nick32vic"Hey Frank,

You may have figured something out by now but we can get this stuff called "Sknot-On-A-Roll"

Its a super thin clear film adhesive that is used to stick emblems on cars. It may be a little more permanent than you are wanting. Im not sure though. if you'd like me to look into it more, let me know.

Get me a part number and manufacturer if you can. TIA

Sorry it took me so long to reply! I forgot to get back on here and check this! The part number is 70710 by International Epoxies and Sealers (IES) They don't list it on their website but we can get it for you.

Rodder's Roundtable / O/T Boat V-Drives?????
December 23, 2007, 10:29:16 AM
Thanks Dave. A couple specific questions I had: Do they make one direct drive? Say, 1:1? Like if you already have a transmision? I was thinking i saw one somewhere on the interent that was 1:1 with no reverse or neutral or antyhing like that. If i had one of those, could I just put the tranny in reverse if I need to back up?

Rodder's Roundtable / O/T Boat V-Drives?????
December 23, 2007, 04:34:17 AM
I am looking for information about the v-drive units used in boats/drag boats. I have been reading the forums on hotboat.com but it is down for updates or something.

I was just wondering if anyone here is into drag boats or any kind of boats using v-drive. Or if you could lead me to some good websites with information. Im looking for info as to who makes/sells them and what kind of different set-ups are available.

I have found a little info on the internet but am looking for more.

Thanks,
-Nick

Rodder's Roundtable / Confessions of a car nut

I do not desire a tri-5 chevy even though Ive been offered a fully restored one in trade.

Local car guys are weird and I dont like local car events.

Most of the local street rod guys are * to me.

I like mini-trucks, but only ones that are built with restraint and a good eye for style

Even though there are alot of cars i wouldnt want to own, I can almost always think of something cool to do to any car.

I hope 'rat rods' go out of style soon

'traditional' styled hot rods and custom are my favorite but I still like the 'high tech' cars alot

I love my car, but I don't like it at all because I know now that I can and want to build a nicer one.

I think that the majority of corvette guys are not car guys and the majority of harley guys are not bike guys. They just want to be.

I would rather watch an episode of Dexter, The Sopranos, or Seinfeld more than an episode of My Classic Car, Horsepower TV, or Pinks.

I go through phases were I cant stand working on cars and would rather do anything else, but in the grand scheme of things, working on cars is my favorite hobby of all.

Driving down the road for the first time, in a car I built, is one of the greatest things I have ever experienced.

Thats all i can think of for now. If any of my 'confessions' make you angry, just forget you read it because my opinion doesn't really matter.

Unfortunately Johnny Sparkle will not make an appearance this year. His presence will be in Evansville signing autographs for the street rod folk at the Frog Follies. I know, i know.......but when your a celebrity like him you have to spread the love.
