Rodder's Roundtable / Body Swap and Registration
August 09, 2009, 07:05:00 PM
I have a '48 F3 that I want to put on a newer model diesel frame complete with all the newer running gear.  My question is If Iwanted to keeep all the numbers straight on the title and registration how will it need to be registered, can I keep it on the F3 or does it have to be registered the "new" frame.  This in Calif
Thanks
For your help
Chris

Rodder's Roundtable / Gas tank rust removal

Some folks on the motorcycle forums will put some phoshoric acid in it and put in a couple cups of nuts and seal the tank.   Wrap it in a heavy towel and tape it up good then put it inthe dryer for about 20 minutes

Fuzzy, I was following your progress on the Plymouth that you chopped last winter, I was wondering how it is progressing and if you have any more photos
Thanks

Rodder's Roundtable / Ramshorn Manifolds
May 11, 2007, 03:27:36 PM
Hello,
While walking through a weed patch over the weekend I couldn't believe my good fortune when I found an engine with a set of ramshorn manifolds.   Can anyone tell me the years and which engines that Ramshorn exaust were standard items?
Thanks

Thanks for all the tips and hints, I appreciate your responses, I am at the parts gathering stage and I have yet to strip it down to get started but at least I have a better idea as to the directions that are possible......on a side note, I was thinking about the bulky steering box issue being mounted on the inside of the frame and was wonding if a Cavalier or mustang Rack  n P would be an option so as to clean things up
Thanks again for everyone's time

Rodder's Roundtable / Buick v-6

Quote from: "sedanman"Why not keep it Chrysler and put 318,340, or 360 in it. With the right exhaust manifolds and oil pan it will fit right in.  :)  :)

I like the idea of all Chrysler but I was thinking about the economy of driving it and I think the Mopar engines get rather poor mileage...BUT on the other hand there seem to be alot of 318s around and I understand that a 318 exaust manifold will curve nicely around the humungus steering box on the inside of the frme

I was thinking about using a buick/GM V-6 engine for my project, (1950 Dodge )are there any years that are better or worse than others...and are there any drawbacks for using such an engine...I was thinking it may be easier than trying to shoehorn anything larger into the engine bay......the other engine was thinking about was the slant 6 but nothing is gained room wise with that
Thanks

Rodder's Roundtable / Ebay Crooks

I bid on a Electraglide last spring and  it didn't sell BUT.... I did receive a "Buy it Now" notice from the "Original Owner/Seller"   I was skeptical so I did the google search and it amost started to play out correctly.  I offered to fly to TX and pay cash for it and the seller declined and wanted to use an escrow account and basically refused to let me pick it up ( he would pay shipping to my door with a complete refund if i didn't like it )...I obtained the VIN and had Harley and run the ## and low and behold it was originally sold to someone in Tenn and was a different model....I have never heard form this guy again...I did the same thing with a bike in Detroit.... ran the numbers it checked out, flew to Detroit and figured if it didn't worlk out...I was just out the plane fare....the guy picked me up at the airport ( I had visions of getting mugged ) 7:30 am and by 10:30  I was heading back to CA on the bike...and everythig was cool...I guess you just have to go into the transaction with doubt and work on it from there......
