Rodder's Roundtable / Need some brake help
October 05, 2006, 07:17:02 PM
N8dc  Thanks for the reply....Not in a big hurry , just have to keep the ball rollin'...Line routing side is variable at this point..It's a drum/drum setup  and we need the dual type for safety..part of our problem is the short pushrod travel (pedal setup is already installed and would require a "back -to -square one" rework to get more pushrod travel ).....BTW , I had also  heard somewhere else that a disc/drum cyl was too sensitive ...
             Thanx to all replies    Stan

Rodder's Roundtable / Need some brake help
October 04, 2006, 09:47:25 PM
Here's what we got:
'32 Ford hiboy roadster
'40 Ford drum brakes (Frt. & Rear)-new "stepped " w/cyls,shoes,springs,etc
'32 type frame
Aftermarket frame mounted pedal assembly- 5:1 ratio, pushrod travel approx 2 1/4(+/-)

What we need to know is:
What dual reservoir type ,manual M/cyl. do we need ? Bore size?
Stroke? ( obviously in the 2"range)
What original OEM application are we looking for? (Yr. & Make)
Any info appreciated Thanks Stan

Rodder's Roundtable / T/Sig schematic/plans
February 04, 2006, 11:34:18 AM
Anyone ever build an electronic t/signal system? One that uses a variable timer maybe, instead of a regular flasher .... Speedway Motors sells( $100) solid state type module , but I figure somebody knows how to use readily available components (timers, relays, momentary switches,etc)...I'm sure some electronic "geek" could go to RadioShack or so ,and gather up all thats needed... I can't use a regular column mounted type switch in my TrackT , so I'm looking for ideas...Any plans ,schematics, material lists appreciated.... Thanks ,  Stan

BTW: I did a search for "electronic turn signals"& WZ Junk posted a pic of just the right system back in Dec 04 , but no specifics and I've PM'd him for details

Rodder's Roundtable / Bending a forged Steering Arm
April 27, 2004, 08:55:15 PM
Anybody ever have to bend a steering box arm ? I'm using a Vega steering box on my Track-T and I need to heat & bend the steering box arm out about an inch or so  to get my steering linkage parallel. The stock Vega arm has about 2" offset (6" ctr. to ctr.)and I need about 3"offset..It's a stock forged Vega arm and I have an extra to practice on ...I  I know this can be dangerous and is ill-advised to do so , but I've tried all my sources to find the correct offset without any results.. any thoughts , SWAG's , past experiences , etc

Rodder's Roundtable / Dyna-Batt users
March 25, 2004, 08:39:08 AM
Anybody have any experience (good or bad ) with a Dyna-Batt  dry cell battery . I'm considering using one in my 26T Lakes Modified roadster , as it's small and lightweight (13#)  I looked at the Optima batteries and they are large and heavy. I do not need much ,as I will only be running the ignition & lighting system ,and no accessories.  They cost around $140.00 online , but I don't want to spend that if they don't do the job and are not worth it.  Feedback from anyone who has used or bought one appreciated.
