Rodder's Roundtable / I have some issues...
September 22, 2004, 07:47:06 AM
but can't seem to find this one...

Hi All,

This is not a New Topic seeing as I first asked this question last March. I'm still wondering if anyone has, or knows where I could find, a copy of Classic Trucks magazine for December 1995 (Vol.4, No.4)

I've been searching the 'Bay diligently for nearly a year but no hit yet!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

p.s.: If anyone could scan the cover of that issue, that would help too.

Hi all,

I haven't been here in a while.

Yesterday I saw a picture of a friend's '48 GMC 1/2 ton frame. The rear suspension on his truck has the springs mounted outboard of the frame whereas mine are mounted under the frame. Why is there a difference and which year did it occur in?

The only information I could find in my Shop Manual and other books I researched was that 1/2 tons came with screw in shackles and bigger trucks came with clevis type shackles.

Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me as I think it would be easier for me to lower the rear of my truck if the springs were mounted outboard of the frame like my buddy's truck.

Thank you all.

Hi all,

I was just reading in the latest Street Rodder that Pete & Jakes and Hot Rods by Dean are offering teflon spindle bushings for '28-'48 Fords.

Is anybody carrying same to retrofit to '52 Chevy pickup front spindles???

With quotes like these: "Magoo has been running a set of teflon bushings in his favorite hot rod since 1970. Currently, the bushings show absolutely no signs of wear", I want some for my truck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Quote from: "Grandadeo"I have a December '95 "Custom & Classic Trucks" issue.  It has a red '56 F-100 big window on the cover and is a How-To Special issue.  It's a Petersen not a McMullen publication so I don't think it's the one you're looking for.  If it is the one email me your mailing address.

Hi again Lee,

I now realise I also need 2 other truck magazines. I thought I'd contact you again because you offered me a Custom Classic Trucks issue.

I have tried 3 times to order those back issues from Primedia but have had absolutely no luck. I was wondering if you had duplicates of Custom Classic Trucks for February and June 2003, Vol 10, Nos. 1 and 4.

So to recap (if anybody can help), I now need:

Truckin' Classic Trucks for December 1995, Vol 4, No.4 (Request from my original post)
AND now...
Custom Classic Trucks for February and June 2003, Vol 10, Nos. 1 and 4.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hi Lee,

Thank you very much for getting back to me but no, I don't need that one. I just checked and I have that issue of Custom Classic Trucks for Dec '95, it's the Truckin' Classic Trucks Dec. '95 that I need.

Thanks again for offering.

Quote from: "OldSub"eBay.  I've found a number of old magazines that way.  I've set up some saved searches and get notified when something matches my search.  I've done the same for parts too.

Oh I have been trying eBay for the past few months just for this magazine but I hadn't thought of setting up a saved search. I had done so once before for something else I was looking for but I'd forgotten that eBay option this time.

Thanks for reminding me.

p.s.: I'd still like to see a scanned picture of the cover for that issue if anybody can post it. Thanks
