I got a few...how cheap are you?

I'm an unemployeed software project manager (I have my own business but it ain't doing too good).  Retired from a major telecom (RBOC) after it was aquired by another large telcom (RBOC).  21 years of labor in that industry.  Joined a small telecom software firm and rode that horse until they went out of business a year later.  Thought I could do some consulting and have been playing with that since.  I gotta get a better gig....

I have several projects: 37 Plymouth 2 dr sedan, 65 Fairland 2 dr sedan, 39 Plymouth PU, a couple of Ts, etc.

If any of you need a Ford 9" tracloc, drop me a line.  That's how I make money for my car habit!

I've got a 37 Plymouth two door sedan.  Other than being a boat, I like the lines.  The grill looks like a ealier Chevy and the slant back like the Ford sedan.  However, everything is about 15 - 20% bigger.  Fits me that way javascript:emoticon(':lol:')

Try your local ACE hardware.  I get silica sand there all the time....

If you use the 351 Winsor heads, you can use the 302 intake.  However, you will have to use special headbolts and 351W intake gaskets.

I put a set of 351 2 barrel heads with Chevy 2.02 valves on my 302 with no problem.  From what I remember, most of the late model 302s use flat piston tops (Stock).  I wouldn't think you would have a problem with what you are thinking.

However, with any non-stock build, you should check clearances. Put a dab of clay on the piston top, bolt on the head (old head gasket will do), and crank her by hand thru TDC.  Pull it apart and check to see how much clearance you have.

If you change a cam, this is a good practice as well.

Where in Chicagoland is this 302?  It is 60 miles from the Northern suburbs to the Southern suburbs....not to far East and West because of the Lake....

Sat down to read thru the posts and yours was the 1st.  I was thinking, gallary plug as I scrolled down and saw that you had already solved the problem.

There are some plugs behind the cam gear as well the often get overlooked, too.  I've seen folks (racer types) drill a small hole in one of them to get more oil to the timing chain.  Don't know that I'd recommend that for the street, however.

did it leak any oil???

Thanks for the info.  I want to use a C-4 (because I have it) but I don't have a flex plate...this gives me the info needed to sort thru the pile at the salvage yard.
