I'm also using a Howe hydraulic throwout bearing with a Wilwood master clyinder behind a 401 nailhead. The throwout bearing was from speedway and is only intended for use with stock pressure plate/clutch setups. I've had good luck with this so far and in a lighter vehicle I wouldn't think it will be an issue. The hydraulic line from the master clyinder to the slave saves a lot of linkage headaches.
You might want to check out Summit, Lane automotive, etc... for clutch/pressure plate packages. Macleod, Centerforce, Zoom, RAM...

Lots of heavy duty setups for tire smoking holeshots. :D  :D  :D

Rodder's Roundtable / Re: Brand of New carb

I bought a 600 Edlebrock for my 401 Buick and it worked great. Bolted it on and ran it for a year with minor tuning of the air fuel mixture. Liked it so much I now have 2 600 Edelbrocks on the 401.      8)

Too much fun when the second carb comes on.  :D

Quote from: "n.c.rodder"A guy came to the NSRA booth last week and asked me if I had heard any problems with guys running Authentic License plates on their Street Rods. As of now I had not, but according to him the rodders are being stopped in the Plainwell area & being told that its illegal to run Authentic plates.

Has anybody else had or heard of this happening??

Mike

I'm close to Plainwell and travel through there quite often on my way to Gilmore's. I have not personally had a problem in this town and I'm running a 27 plate registered through the state. Thanks for the heads up  though and I'll make sure and take it easy around Plainwell. Don't need to give them an excuse to pull me over. The car already attracts enough attention.

I went to Lowes and they wer supposed to check on some lights for me but a week later no call from them. Ihave had the same thoing happen there with other things I was looking for. I will have to see if there are any building supply places in Toledo or Ft. Wayne.
The lights you are looking for are more commercial/industrial than what the home cheapo or other building supply places may stock.
You may have to go to an electrical supply house. I know some of the supply houses in the Kalamazoo area have locations in Fort Wayne. Take a look at Kedall, Allphase, Graybar, or possibly Grainger.
Good luck with your search.

As far as shop lights I want to run some round lights that will work in cold weather, anyone have any suggestions? I will not be able to get heat in the building till next year.
Check with your local electrical supply house. They make a highbay and lowbay fixture for industrial applications depending on the height of your ceiling. I would recommend metal halide low bay fixtures. You can get them in different wattages and with multi-tap ballasts for different voltages. 3 or 4  400 watt lowbays will light it up in there. Metal halide produces a bright white light. While high pressure sodium has an orange/yellow effect. (Avoid HPS)
These fixtures take awhile to come up to full power so you might want a few regular incandescents around the entrance/exits.
Also if you go to leave the building and shut the lowbay fixtures off they will take 10 to 20 minutes to come back on.
Some are equipped with what is called a quartz restrike and they will come on faster. So you could put one near the door for general lighting.
Again check with the supply house and ask the lighting guy to help.
They should have some other options for ya.

Quote from: HotRodLadyCrusrGREAT to see you here sweetie!  It was wonderful seeing both you and your lovely wife last weekend.  I'm so glad you parked by us and hung out.  Looking forward to the next time we can all get together again.

Hey Denise, It was great meeting up with you and the rest of the RRT folks. I've been following your post about a fall color tour and that sounds like a hoot. Also thanks for posting a photo. I'll figure out how to do that someday.    I may have to call the topless cruzn buddy helpline.

Let's see that was 1-900- ????

Um....... er......... not that one.

Oh.... here it is.
