Thanks dragrcr50, that's the info I was looking for. I'll post pics up in the readers ride section later today.

Rodder's Roundtable / Transport question
October 09, 2007, 10:29:56 PM
My new toy is being delivered tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go get it myself, so I had one of the big transport companies pick it up in a big rig. Someone asked me if you tip the driver, and I realized that I don't know.

anyone here use transports? Do you tip the driver? If so, how much? It was about a 1000 mile trek in an enclosed transport, and my 50 Ford needed to be winched up, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

Rodder's Roundtable / Source for YOM license plates?

Thanks for the tips. I never thought about looking for a collector's club. Our state also allows you to call to check the number before trying to register it. Fortunately they've never required two plates, so it's very rare to see two together.

Rodder's Roundtable / Source for YOM license plates?

I'm looking for a 1950 New Mexico license plate in good condition (fortunately only rear is required here) to registered on my new ride. I've been outbid on a couple already on evil bay, so I'm hoping someone here has a source for a collector or dealer that might have one or be able to get one.

Thanks!

LOL - I'm offended by that, I'm going to report you to the internet police!

Thanks for the welcome, I'm really looking forward to getting my car soon and I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions - the first is about the dizzy with a wobble, based on the discussion I had with the seller yesterday. I'll save that for a new topic once I get the car and have a look at it in person.

Thanks for the welcome. And yeah, I'm outside of Santa Fe. I try not to admit that I'm anywhere near that town, but sometimes I have to. And most of the Texan's we get around here ain't from Amarillo, so I can accept knowing at least one from there

You wanna rile up the yanks? Just remind 'em that when we say rust free, we mean RUST FREE!

Howdy folks. Just wanted to introduce myself before I become a lurker

I've been primarily a jeeper for a while, with an 82 Cherokee and an 88 Grand Wagoneer. I just sold the 82 so I could buy a 1950 Ford sedan with a rebuilt flathead. I have yet to see the 50, just got lots of pictures. It'll be here in a couple weeks. It's in primer with some rust on the floorboards, but otherwise good shape.

I plan on a mild build on the Ford, probably keeping it pretty close to stock for the first "fun" car I've had since my 67 Mustang in high school. After this one's built, who know's what I'll end up with, a rat rod Model A pickup sounds like fun . . . .

I'm sure I'll be here often asking for advice, sounds like there's a lot of great info here. Anyone here around Santa Fe?

OOps, sorry, managed to post in a thread instead of a new topic!
