Yes, my original manual has the notes, but none under these frame listings that I could find. It is a nice option. Usually to do with mounting hole placement. I've run in to variations between US and Canadian built cars. Not much mentioned about that though. 😊 Rick

Rodder's Roundtable / 54 Chevrolet frame
November 03, 2017, 02:06:47 PM
i have two Hollander Manuals. One is an original covering 1948 and down. The second is a reprint I purchased from Dragich that covers up to 1956. With a yard with hundreds of vintage cars, they sure have been useful over the years! I have sold many of my cars, but the manuals aren't going anywhere! 😃

Rodder's Roundtable / 54 Chevrolet frame
November 01, 2017, 07:07:12 AM
A friend of mine starting building a 50 Canadian Pontiac using front and rear suspension from Chassis Engineering. The frame is the same as a 50 Chevy. He has the Chassis complete and it looks great. He then had the opportunity to buy a mint 54 Chev sedan. Question is, will the 54 body bolt to the 50 frame? Or what alterations are needed to adapt it. I looked in my Hollander interchange and they show different frame numbers for the two. I always thought they were the same! If all else fails, I guess we remove the kits from the 50 frame and transplant them on the 54 frame.

I just did an engine swap in my daily driver. 1993 GMC 2500 with 5.7 engine. It will spin over , but not fire. Pour a bit of gas into the throttle body and it will fire up and continue to run. I'm an old school guy and understand carbs and points ignition. Don't know where to go from here! Help!

Hey Denise. Nice score on the poncho wagon. You know me and my love for the Pontiacs. If you are short of room at your house, you now have space for a few more guests in the Wagon! Take care. Rick

Rodder's Roundtable / What are you doing today?
October 26, 2011, 07:04:31 PMQuote from: "Charlie Chops 1940"
Does anyone have a '30/31 that they can give me an average measurement for from the lower front edge of the fender well opening back to the center of the hole that goes through the wheel well and the Cee shaped panel below the lower trunk panel?
Thanks,
Charlie
Hi Charlie. I have an original unmolested '31 coupe in my garage. Not sure sure if I have the right measurements for you, but I will try. I measured from the front edge of the fender opening to the centre of the "crow-foot" body line at 17-3/4". I also measured from the front edge to the rear fender mounting boss as 33-7/16". This was on the drivers side. The passenger side was a 1/4" shorter on both measurements. If you need more info I can check further. Rick

That is looking great Al! Must make you feel great to see the chassis coming together. Look forward to going for a ride next summer! Give me a call when you want the pieces cut. If you call me with the measurements I can have them ready. If you are busy, a fellow from Baldur works in Neepawa, travels daily and would likely delivery them to you, unless you want to come for a visit and want to watch the pieces cut. Your call! Rick

Rodder's Roundtable / SBF waterpump

Thanks Frank. Looks like a 1.5" savings on space. Pretty significant! That should do the trick. Is this similar to an early 289 application? I have spent all my life with SBC engines and have little knowledge on the Ford Brethren.

Rodder's Roundtable / SBF waterpump

Working on a 30 Essex 3-window with a 351 Windsor and a 5speed for a friend. He would like a little more clearance for the engine to radiator. Are there any waterpumps available that are shorter than the conventional windsor pumps? The chassis is already built and the engine is mounted, but clearance on the radiator is tight. I remember seeing an article in Street Rodder, I believe, many years ago that showed a shorter pump. I can't find the article! Help! Rick
