Rodder's Roundtable / I can make vin tags
September 11, 2005, 10:53:16 AM
I have noticed that some of you guys are looking for a way to attach a vin number to your cars. I can perform that service. I don't know if this is considered spam or not and if the two Franks want to delete this post go right ahead. I have been stamping tags for quite a while now and the reason I got into it is because I ran into the same problem when I built my '32. It's not like I'm getting rich, not at $10.00 a pop. LOL. I just do it as a service to the rodding community. I'm enclosing a photo and a letter of description in case anyone is interested. Thank you, Scott     a.k.a.  Rat Rod Mac

Here is how I have it set up.

1)   Standard kit --  One tag with two holes punched in it for screws or rivets and your number stamped on it. $10.00.

2) Middle kit--  The stamped tag along with two stainless screws and an allen wrench for $15.00.

3) Deluxe kit--  Same as above plus a tap drill and tap.  $30.00.

At this time I have only the one style tag and it will take up to 13 numbers or letters.

Attached is a photo of the tag kits.

An added plus,,  shipping is included in the prices listed.

If interested this is how to obtain one.... Send a money order for the amount of the kit you wish to purchase along with your name and address and a piece of paper with the vin number on it EXACTLY the way you want it stamped.  To

I met an old guy over the weekend that tells me he has a '57 Chrysler in his barn that has a 392 hemi in it. Says it ran when he parked it. Did not say how long ago that was though. Says he may part with it. If it's all there and turns over, what do you guys think it's worth? Any pro or con comments are welcome.  Thank you.  RRM

Rodder's Roundtable / Question for Crosley
August 08, 2005, 03:45:44 AM
Tony, my rod has a 350 turbo in it with a shift kit one step stronger than stock. When I put it in drive and go to take off I only go about 5 to 10 feet and it shifts into second. I would like it to go a little further before shifting. Someone told me you can put an allen wrench through the hole in the module and adjust this shift. First off, is this true and if so which direction do I turn it and roughtly how many turns. I was going to give it a half turn clockwise and see what happens. The module is the canister type. Thought I might check with you first. Thanks in advance,   RRM

Hey Lynn, thanks for the welcome. I have some of my progress pictures on a cd now and can e-mail them. Did I send you a couple of shots awhile back? I was going to send Tony and George a couple of shots, if they're interested, but don't know their e-mail addresses. If you two guys are watching and would like to see them drop me your e-mail address and I will send you the progress shots.
It's been a long time now, Lynn, since I started this project, but I have stuck with it, just like you. How is your car coming along? I'm on the interior now. Started to lay the carpet last night. The trunk is done and the headliner is in. Here is my e-mail address if you want to e-mail me for the pics. See ya, Scott

P.S.     Do you think there is a way to mention the vin tag thing without getting everyone wound up with a spam war? Send me some shots of your car.

Quote from: "40"Welcome! Seems I recall your screen name from the old SRS board?

Hey Daryle, how you doing? Yeah, I check out the SRS forum. I don't know if you remember or not, but I was the guy that was going to buy some Torq Thrust 2's off of you a couple of years ago. Remember? You got broken into and lost a high dollar engine I think. RRM

Thanks Tony. I've been playing around with a '32 3 window for a few years now. In another month or so I hope to have the interior done and then maybe get to drive it for the remainder of the summer and fall. RRM

It's been a struggle, but I finally am able to get on this web-site. Tried a year ago, but for some reason (probably my fault) could not get my password to hook up. Now that Fat Cat has cleaned house I tried again with Fat Cats help and made it this time. So here I am. Mostly a lurker, but you never know. Some of you guys I met over at Slicks a couple of years ago and a few at Louisville. Feels good to be able to participate if need be. Thanks.   Rat Rod Mac
