The ultimate good old boy is someone who can make or fix something "just good enough" with "no money spent." Looks like you qualify.

Rodder's Roundtable / 32 Ford glass roadster bodies
September 27, 2009, 08:51:46 PM
Friend recently built a Divviki 32 three window. I helped. He is an experienced builder and pulled it off but it was by no means a pleasant experience.
For a roadster I recommend Show Me Rod and Custom. Has 2" stretched doors and cockpit. And 2" in a Deuce roadster is a lot! Priced right.

Rodder's Roundtable / Favorite Events and How you Get To Them

I really enjoy the gig the Memphis Street Rodders put on at Sam's Town (Tunica, MS) in September. One of the very few shows my wife really looks forward to.

Goodguys, Nashville is another good show. Lots to see and do off campus.

Rodder's Roundtable / NSRA Mid America Nats 2009

Had a great time.
"Hot Stuff," my 32 Ford roadster performed flawlessly. Almost 10,000 miles on it now.
Left out early Sunday in hopes of missing the rain. But I caught up with it at West Plans and ran topless and wet for the last 100 miles. Great fun.

Rodder's Roundtable / 76 Dodge Truck Parts
May 12, 2009, 03:38:18 PM
Friend of mine is restoring his late father's 76 Dodge. Does anyone here have a source for trim items, i.e, the big "D-O-D-G-E" letters on the hood, side window crank handles, etc.?

Rodder's Roundtable / Fuel Injection Recommendation
March 30, 2009, 10:45:21 PM
Friend of mine is doing a frame off restoration on a 76 Dodge pickup. It was his Dad's and he wants to keep it near stock mechanically and appearance wise.
It has the stock MOPAR 360 and an automatic transmission.
He wants modern fuel injection and good driveability.
He is not opposed to rebuilding the stock motor and transmission and adding an aftermarket fuel injection system.
And he is also willing to upgrade to a later fuel injected engine and AOD transmission if that is practical.
What advice can you give him concerning recommended after market fuel injection systems and practical later model engine/transmission swaps.
This will be a weekend driver. He wants fuel injection because he wants it ready to go when he is.

Rodder's Roundtable / Some people
February 11, 2009, 02:26:46 PM
Around here a lot of the old timers subscribe to the "just good enough" is "good enough" way of fixing things.
We bought a rent house from one of my wife's relatives. A tightwad that all the other tightwads considered tight.
The water tasted rubbery. When I got under the house I found numerous freeze busted pipes fixed with lengths of garden hose. When we asked him about it he said "You get used to it."
